Breakdown Recovery in Bolton and Bury: North Greater Manchester

Greater Tow Services

2026-03-25

Bolton and Bury sit at the northern reaches of Greater Manchester, connected to the M60 ring road via the M61 and M66 motorways. Our Manchester North depot covers these areas and the routes in between.

Bolton and Bury are the two largest towns at the northern edge of Greater Manchester. Bolton sits at the top of the M61 corridor, while Bury is accessible via the M66 and the A56 Ramsbottom Road. Both towns are within the coverage zone of our Manchester North depot at 27 Parksway, M9 0QJ, though for locations further north within these boroughs, response times will be somewhat longer than for our primary coverage area immediately around the depot.

M61 to Bolton Coverage

The M61 motorway runs from the M60 at junction 15 north to the M6 near Preston, passing through the Bolton area. Our Manchester North team attends M61 breakdowns in the Greater Manchester section — from the M60 junction through to approximately junction 6 — with typical response times of 25–35 minutes. For Bolton town centre and the inner Bolton residential and retail areas, we respond via the A666 approach from the M61 junction 5 area.

Bury and the M66 Corridor

Bury is served by the M66 motorway, which connects to the M60 at junction 17 and runs north through the Irwell Valley. Our Manchester North depot reaches Bury via the M60/M66 interchange in approximately 20–25 minutes to the town centre and Bury New Road corridor. The Bury to Ramsbottom section of the M66 takes longer to reach but we will always provide an honest ETA when you call.
