Vehicle Recovery in Rochdale and Heywood

Greater Tow Services

2026-03-18

Rochdale and Heywood lie at the northern boundary of Greater Manchester, with the M62 motorway running through the heart of their connection to the wider region. Our North Manchester depot covers this area around the clock.

Rochdale and Heywood sit on the northern periphery of Greater Manchester, positioned between the M62 motorway to the south and the Pennine moors to the north and east. The M62 is the primary motorway connection here — one of the highest-altitude motorways in England, exposed to severe weather, and subject to significant HGV traffic. Our Manchester North depot at M9 0QJ is the primary responder for Rochdale and Heywood, with access via the M60/M62 interchange.

M62 Rochdale Section Response

The M62 between junctions 18 and 21 passes through the Greater Manchester portion of the Rochdale and Heywood area. Our Manchester North depot can reach M62 junction 20 in approximately 20–25 minutes via the M60 ring road. For junctions further east into the Pennine sections, response times increase but we will always attend and provide an accurate ETA. In winter, the elevated M62 is one of the first routes to be affected by snow and ice in the Greater Manchester region.

Middleton and the A664 Corridor

Middleton, which sits between Rochdale and North Manchester, is well within our primary response zone from the Manchester North depot. The A664 Manchester New Road and the routes through Collyhurst and Miles Platting give us good access times of 20–30 minutes to Middleton. Rochdale town centre adds another 10–15 minutes to this via the A664 and A627.
