Towing Services in Oldham and Tameside: East Greater Manchester

Greater Tow Services

2026-03-20

Oldham and Tameside form the eastern edge of Greater Manchester, bordering the Pennines and connected to the city via the A62, A57, and A670 corridors. Our Gorton depot serves this part of the region.

Oldham and Tameside occupy the eastern arc of Greater Manchester, where the urban conurbation transitions sharply into Pennine moorland. The road geography here is shaped by river valleys and mill-era topography — winding A-roads, steep gradients, and exposed moorland crossings that can be treacherous in winter. Our Gorton depot in M18 7QX is the closest Greater Tow Services base to this area, with good access to Oldham and Tameside via the M60 junctions 22–26 and the A57, A62, and A670 corridors.

Oldham: Town Centre and Moorland Approaches

Oldham town centre and the inner residential areas of Royton, Chadderton, and Shaw are typically reachable from our Gorton depot within 30–40 minutes. The A62 Manchester Road and A663 Rochdale Road are the primary arterial routes we use to reach Oldham, and our drivers are experienced on these corridors including the elevated moorland sections that can be affected by snow and ice significantly ahead of the lowland areas.

Tameside: Ashton, Denton, and the M67

Tameside contains the towns of Ashton-under-Lyne, Hyde, Denton, Audenshaw, Droylsden, and Stalybridge. Our Gorton depot is ideally positioned for the western Tameside towns — Audenshaw and Droylsden are within our primary 20–30 minute zone. Ashton and Hyde are 25–35 minutes depending on traffic. The M67 motorway, which serves the Tameside area, is accessible from M60 junction 24 and we attend M67 breakdowns as part of our standard service.
